"My first day camp" is a gentle introduction to day camp for children aged 4–6. Our young participants will discover their neighbourhood by exploring the park, observing nature in the city, gardening, decorating a lane, and meeting neighbours and local partners. This active, creative camp is designed to meet kids on their level in the welcoming atmosphere of the Local Familial!

A camp that meets kids on their level, designed specifically for those aged 4–6 who might be experiencing camp for the first time.

$195 per week, per child

What's in store for your child...

Camp activities are being planned in collaboration with local partners.

- Urban exploration: Mapping La Fontaine Park together, observing and identifying the surrounding plants and animals, discovering the neighbourhood's people and history, etc. 

- Activities centred on arts and nature, offered by a variety of local partners: taking care of urban plants and gardens, playing and listening to music in the park, attending plays, creating ephemeral works of art in a lane, etc. 

- Special outings to the BAnQ library, the wading pool, local festivals, etc.

- Regular activities like cooking together at the Local, arts and crafts to decorate the space, story time, board games, yoga, dancing, water games, etc. 


What to bring

Every day:

An extra snack will be supplied every day.

 

Supervision

• 1 or 2 facilitators depending on the number of children (5 children per facilitator)
• Intentionally limited to a small group
• Engaging facilitators who have experience with small children
• Up-to-date first aid certification
• Parent volunteers occasionally involved facilitating activities

FAQ

Is this camp suitable for a first experience?

Yes. The program is designed for kids aged 4–6, with a gentle pace and smooth transitions.

Do the children need to be potty trained?

No, we accept children who still wear diapers.

What happens if it rains?

Activities will take place indoors, or sometimes we'll play in the rain. Camp will take place regardless of the weather.

Can I register my child for more than one week?

Yes! Each week will be different.

 

Registration for "My first day camp" is confirmed once the form is filled out and payment has been received. All cancellation requests must be made in writing. In the event of cancellation more than 14 days before the reserved week, a full refund will be provided, minus administrative fees of $25 per week. Between 14 and 7 days before the start of camp, 50% of the amount paid will be refunded. Less than 7 days before the beginning of the reserved week, no refund will be provided. No refund or credit will be provided in the event of absence, lateness, or early departure. In the event that the camp is cancelled by the organization, a full refund will be provided. Exceptional circumstances, such as those involving serious medical reasons supported by documentation, will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
