2026 theme: Discover your neighbourhood!

A camp that meets kids on their level, designed specifically for those aged 4–6 who might be experiencing camp for the first time.

The Local familial's day camp is a gentle introduction to camps for children aged 4-6.

Our young participants will discover their neighbourhood by exploring the park, observing nature in the city, gardening, decorating a lane, and meeting neighbours and local partners.

This active, creative camp is designed to meet kids on their level in the welcoming atmosphere of the Local Familial!

FEE

$195 per week / child

Eligible for the tax credit for childcare expenses, which reimburses 67% to 78% of the costs. Learn more here!

WHAT'S IN STORE FOR YOUR CHILD

Urban exploration
Mapping La Fontaine Park, observing and identifying surrounding plants and animals, discovering the neighbourhood's history...

Activities centered on arts and nature
Taking care of plants and gardens, playing and listening to music in the park, attending plays, creating ephemeral works of art in a lane...

Special outings
BANQ, wading pools, local festivals...

Activities at the Local
Cooking together, arts and crafts to decorate the space, story time, board games, yoga, dancing, water games...

WHAT TO BRING

Every day:

• Cold lunch
• Snack
• Water bottle
• Sunscreen
• Hat
• Suitable clothing for the temperature
• Bathing suit
• Towel
• Change of clothes

An extra snack will be supplied every day.

SUPERVISION

• 1 or 2 facilitators depending on the number of children (5 children per facilitator)
• Minimum 2 facilitators per group during outside activities
• Intentionally small groups
• Engaging facilitators who have experience with small children
• Up-to-date first aid certification
• Parent volunteers occasionally involved facilitating activities

We strive to provide a safe, calm, and caring environment.

REGISTRATION

Registration for the camp is confirmed once the form is filled out and payment has been received. All cancellation requests must be made in writing.

• In the event of cancellation more than 14 days before the reserved week, a full refund will be provided, minus administrative fees of $25 per week.
• Between 14 and 7 days before the start of camp, 50% of the amount paid will be refunded.
• Less than 7 days before the beginning of the reserved week, no refund will be provided.
• No refund or credit will be provided in the event of absence, lateness, or early departure.

In the event that the camp is cancelled by the organization, a full refund will be provided. Exceptional circumstances, such as those involving serious medical reasons supported by documentation, will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
