ROOM RENTAL

In addition to offering a community space filled with activities and family accommodations, Le Local Familial also offers a room rental service for children's parties and activities.

Get involved

The Local Familial thrives and grows through the commitment of families and the community. Everyone can contribute in their own way, according to their schedule, skills, and interests. Whether it's occasionally lending a hand, getting involved on a more regular basis, or supporting the project financially, every contribution makes a difference.

How to get involved

We have 4 types of volunteer roles, each of which involves different skills and time commitments:

  • Monitor: Opening/closing and monitoring the space, welcoming the families that come in, taking payments.
Schedule: Regular, particularly mornings starting at 9:30 a.m.
    I'm in!

  • Regular facilitator: Help the space thrive in one or more of the following ways: offering simple activities for children, helping tidy and clean the Local, providing informal support and a listening ear to parents.
Schedule: Regular, particularly evenings from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. and weekends.
    I'm in!

  • Occasional facilitator: Planning and leading organized workshops for children, parents, or both..
Schedule: One-off, occasional, or regular, primarily evenings from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. and weekends.
    I'm in!

  • Expert: Help the Local team with administrative tasks such as funding research, partnership development, business plan optimization, and financial management.
Schedule: Work from home at your own pace, occasional meetings with a Local team member.
    I'm in!

No matter what you excel at, there's a place for you !

If you'd like to become a member of the Local, a few hours of volunteer work per week could earn you a membership at no cost. :)

You can also send us an email or discuss volunteer opportunities with the team members on site.

Financial support

By becoming a member or making a donation, you contribute directly to the Local's success. Without subsidies from the Ministère de la Famille, our non-profit relies on its own revenue. Your support allows us to keep our services accessible and offer solidarity memberships to families in need.

We are not yet a recognized charity, but the process is underway. In the meantime, you can send a donation by Interact etransfer to lelocalfamilial@gmail.com or directly through our donation page.

Our collective engagement

The Local is more than just a space—it's an organization that values transparency and participative management. Our board of directors is made up of parent volunteers and we hold an annual general meeting (AGM) that is open to all member families. The opinions of our families are central to our decision-making—after all, it was families who created the Local and continue to shape its future.

Getting involved can also mean:

  • attending parent meetings and group discussions

  • sharing your thoughts on our projects

  • suggesting ideas to improve our services

  • joining the board of directors

The Local Familial is a project created by and for families. We like to do things together, even if we only have 15 minutes a month to spare!
